by James, 4 years agoI love Bitwaden, the app does its job, and obviously I trust it. And I'm ubergrateful for the free service.
Nothing about the free version is crippled, ad-supported, or privacy invading, so for a personal account a paid upgrade is, and feels, completely optional. (That's one of the many huge reasons to use open-source, community-based software in the first place.)
One thing: if there is physical address information somewhere on their website, it is extremely well-hidden.
As a librarian I helped law students for 30 years, from the 80's, to the birth of the web in the the 90's, on. I always told them to examine websites carefully to determine credibility before using them as a research source. One of the things I tell them to look for is a physical address for the website owners. Especially if there is no public phone number, you should put a physical address in addition to other contact points. No one would ever write, of course, but you would be more likely to get customers like the kids I've been privileged to influence over the years.

Biometric unlock stopped working properly.
So I had chosen Biometric Unlock but extension always ask for master password. I have to now manually select Unlock with Biometric this is not the way it worked before. The next problem is when I tell it to manually unlock with Biometric the Windows Hello Biometric Window is now hidden behind Firefox and I have to go click it on the toolbar. This makes Biometric unlock useless and I have had to resort to PIN unlock. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18309660, 3 days agoFluide et performant et surtout gratuit et sécurisé

- Rated 5 out of 5by frostbyte, 9 days agoAfter LastPass went corporate and severely limited their free account options, I searched for months for a new service. Password management services are, admittedly, fairly cheap in general, and it wasn't anything against LastPass that made me leave. I simply couldn't afford anything but a free account at the time.
After trying many alternatives I stumbled upon Bitwarden, and steeled myself for yet another disappointment, only to find a refreshing, comprehensive and secure service I could rely on, even for free until I could afford a higher account level.
I highly recommend Bitwarden—the desktop client and/or the browser integration are outstanding, as is the mobile app (and companion authenticator app). Thank you, Bitwarden! - Rated 5 out of 5by Eo, 9 days ago
