- Rated 1 out of 5by Liam, 6 months agoI would have never guessed this was made by Mozilla, such a poorly designed and ugly extension, in order to use it you need to keep that weird looking orb floating on every web page you're on at all times

posted 6 months agoThanks for your feedback! We've now introduced another UI options for the "orb" available thanks to previous user feedback. We'll take this as an opportunity to better demonstrate the "minimalist" option during onboarding. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14776589, 6 months agoThis is a timesaver for me, using it a lot! Would be great to be able to use it in the reader view or when reading a searchable pdf too.

posted 6 months agoThank you for that feedback! It's something we're currently considering and hope to make that feature available in the future. - Rated 5 out of 5by Bill the Cat, 6 months agoThis is super handy to summarize a lengthy article when I am strapped for time.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Ollie, 7 months agoI've found Orbit to be decently useful for me so far as a summary tool. I like the fact that it seems designed with that main purpose in mind. I also very much appreciate the steps taken to preserve user privacy.
My number one request however would be to include a Dark Mode option for the panels and widget. The current light theme clashes heavily with my dark browser theme and pages using a dark layout.
I'll definitely continue using this add-on, and I look forward to seeing how it develops with future updates.
EDIT: They have since added a dark mode, so that's a 5 stars from me! Thank you devs! - Rated 5 out of 5by doesthiscount, 7 months ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Mascus, 8 months agoThis is an incredible add-on. Well done, team, for making it so useful and responsive. The AI is also really great and non-distracting in its responses.
May I ask that you add a keyboard shortcut to bring up a chat window or something? It would just feel a lot more fluid that way. The orb (clever naming btw) can be a bit distracting, partly because its animated.
I'm super happy with it just need a keyboard shortcut to make it stealthier.
Cheers for all your work so far.Developer response
posted 7 months agoThat's great feedback! And thank you for the kind words as well. The keyboard shortcuts should be coming in the coming iterations : ) - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16840780, 8 months ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by FrogPog, 8 months agoI really like this addon! You can summarize giant webpages/videos into some sentences! But, it have some issues: 1. Minimal orb format always snaps to right border. Would be nice if user could snap it to the left, bottom or top. 2 Orb position resets when changing tabs / going to another link. 3. Orb sometimes randomly disappears (enabling on/off don't help) (yeah my english is very bad because it's not my first language 😄)

- Rated 2 out of 5by kris33, 8 months agoWorks good, but extremely annoying UI.
This adds a massive floating element to all webpages by default. You can make it smaller, but it's still on top of pages instead of better places built for add-ons, like the toolbar. Imagine if other extensions did it like this, it would be massively annoying. It's like the Clippy/BonziBuddy UI, just duller.
You can't summarize the things you usually want to summarize either, like links you haven't clicked on yet. That's probably the most useful use-case for summarization, "do I want to consume the contents on this link or is it clickbait?". This plugin can't do that, the UI is both intrusive and useless.
The Kagi extension has a WAY better UI (but the summarization itself is often broken unfortunately, so alternatives are needed.)Developer response
posted 8 months agoThis is valuable feedback for our team! Thank you.
The ability to summarize links on a page is a great idea and one we'll add to our backlog.
We'll continue to evolve the UI thanks to great feedback like this.
